Replays are an integral part of every building-centered game, and especially of Heroes of Fortunia. After all, how can you be expected to improve your dungeon-building skills if you cannot see how your dungeon performs in a real attacking environment?
This is where attack replays come in. Every time your dungeon is attacked (and every time you attack another dungeon), a replay of that attack is saved for both the attacker and the defender to view at a later time. This way, as a defender, you can see which parts of your dungeon are most (or least) successful, and as an attacker, you can see what types of minions or traps give you a hard time, and perhaps see where you’ve made some mistakes.
You will also be able to view live replays, meaning you can watch an attack on your dungeon as it unfolds!
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like when viewing a replay:
As you can see, the replay UI is very similar to the standard attack UI, albeit with a few additions. This is because we want watching replays to mimic the original attack experience as closely as possible, so you can see exactly what the attacker saw.
On the left-hand side, you have four buttons. Their functionality is, from top to bottom: Start the replay over, pause/resume the replay, change replay speed (available speeds are x1/2, x1 and x1.5), and return to Edit Mode. It should be noted that most of the functionality is unavailable when viewing a live replay.
In addition to being able to view the defending player’s name, you can also see the attacking player’s name. This is useful for when you are sharing replays with other players! We will elaborate on how that’s going to work at a later date.
This is going to conclude today’s weekly glimpse. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter on the front page to be notified via email whenever a new blog post is published. Also, be super sure to check back next week, when we announce the date for the first closed beta test!
